Don’t sell yourself short. It only takes 10 minutes a day to do a few stretches throughout the day. Your muscles, including your heart muscle, will thank you.
3. Stretch Every 30 Minutes
Studies show that sitting for longer than 30 minutes at a time has a detrimental effect on your body, raising your risk of developing cancer to cardiac conditions. Try:
- Shoulder shrugs and rolls
- Side stretches
- Knee to chest raises while curling your back
- Wrist stretches
Meditation can be good for the heart and the soul. Go to your happy place 10 minutes a day. Whether you want to recite prayers, blessings, or just zone out for 10 minutes, meditation is an excellent way to clear your mind.

- Jumping jacks
- Body weight squats
- Donkey kicks
- Push-ups (modified when beginning)
- Plank (work up to 30 seconds)
